Option

August 30, 2020

Faithfulness imparts God’s reason for all circumstances. No matter what the world says, losing is no longer an option.
― Criss Jami, Venus in Arms

Today marks the end of OZO’s tenure as Hoh. We had a great week of song, dance, challenges, tasks and winnings. To crown it all the house won their wager which means food security for all.

Not choosing is also a choice, only if know you have options.”
― Aniekee Tochukwu Ezekiel

This week the housemates were task to paint their heroes and to tell the stories behind their paintings. We leave an extremely emotional week behind us since as expected the stories were told with deep sadness and overwhelming joy. We were all moved to crackling laughter and thick salty tears.

OZO didn’t paint an original but it was filled with light and bright colour. He spoke about his dad. Inwardly I was hoping that he would paint his mother, since I hardly got to know her for this long time of him living in the house. By observing him I decided to paint my own picture of her, to honour her and thank her for raising a beautiful human being.

When someone you love makes compassion, kindness, forgiveness, respect and God an option, you can be sure they have made you an option, as well.
― Shannon L. Alder

For OZO to this point it has been a long and winding road – this friendship with NENGI. He has come under tremendous scrutiny for sticking with her despite the fact that he could lose her to any of the other men in the house, he remained steadfast and he remained faithful.

OZO is very quiet and somewhat shy, I think he got it from his dad. On the other hand he doesn’t seek approval by doing things that are helpful or giving for the females in his life. He appears passive and one has the impression that he enjoys solitary activities including sports or computer games.  He never finds it hard to talk about his own sisters which comes from a place of deep love and comfortability. OZO is extremely happy and pleasant in the company of women.

Failure is an option, fear is not.
― James Cameron

Friend or Foe, fear is not an option, OZO has proved to me that as he gets closer to a woman, there is no fear that he may be exposed, because he has to reveal fears or feelings that are “unmanly”.  A sure sign to me that despite the strictness of his mom he doesn’t harbour fear of loving and showing affection to women openly. He shows pride in his mom and dad story.

Everyone has the ability to hurt. It’s the choice that matters.”
― Yvonne Woon, Dead Beautiful

Helping your son face his demons is not so easy to do as a mom. Especially when you have your own issues about love and commitment, as well as your own needs, as we all do.

I’m in high regard of your Mom, OZO. She has reared you and loved you from her best and highest perspective of self, and, in so doing, inspire you her beloved son to find his strength and courage to love women so sweetly.  I stand in awe of your mom.

Wishing you a blessed Sunday.
